And so it begins again … Our local weather forecaster is predicting another 4 inches of snow falling sometime after midnight.  It has also been quite cold.  With this morning’s temperature coming in at a -14 (with the windchill factor.)  Not exactly the type of weather to have problems on the rode!

Here are some safe driving tips to keep us out of trouble:

1. Make sure your vehicle is in good working condition.
2. Check your vehicle’s tires for proper air pressure and that the tread is at least 1/16″ deep.
3. Plan ahead … Check forecasts and weather conditions before venturing out!
4. Let others know your expected arrival time.
5. Travel at a safe distance behind other vehicles.
6. Only travel at a rate of speed that is acceptable for the road conditions.
7. Stock your vehicle with blankets, clothing, water, food, a shovel, and flashlight.
8. Keep your cell phone charged and with you in case you need it.
9. Should your vehicle get stuck, do not continuously run your vehicle.  Only run it long enough to keep warm.
10. Ensure that the exhaust pipe is free from show to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
