Cedar Falls, Iowa - Midwest Flood Town

Published by iowahippiechick at 6:00 am under iowahippiechick Edit This

Normally you’d probably be thinking, “Where the heck is Cedar Falls, Iowa?”

But with all the national press we’ve been receiving lately - I figured you might have heard of us…

Anyway, that’s where I live … Cedar Falls, Iowa - Midwest flood town.

The floodwater is now receding and it ain’t pretty!

My heart goes out to my friends & neighbors dealing with the aftermath of “The Great Flood of 2008.”

An aftermath that is total destruction, filth, and an unholy stink.

These people are hurting … many of them having lost everything.

And all this flooding is nipping at the heals of the tornado - that a few weeks ago flattened our neighboring community of Parkersburg. (And I mean destroyed almost the entire town ).

Destruction and devastation is rampant in my state …

Yet I’ve learned life goes on - it just does.

No matter how bewildered, hopeless, or lost we may feel - we pick up the pieces of our lives and continue on …

Grateful that we have a life to continue on with!

Even though it has been quite busy around here … I was excited to open the email approving me to blog about frugality & personal finance on the today.com website.

Because as I stated earlier - life does goes on and I’ve got a lot of ideas & tips to share.

Most of all, I can’t wait to hear what you have to say …
